SWOT Analysis

Strengths:

Protects your computer from many types of abuses that harm unprotected computers such as:          application backdoors, SMTP session hijacking, email bombs, and Spam.

Protects anyone from the outside from logging onto a computer in your private network.

 Weaknesses:

The highest level of security is to block everything, which defeats the purpose of having
         an internet connection.

Many computer abuses are hard, if not impossible, to filter using a firewall.

 Opportunities:

Allows you to perform your daily computer activities with less worry that your computer will be          harmed.

You can create a firewall to protect you from the most common threats from your computer
activities and still be able to perform your necessary functions on the computer.

  Threats:

The firewall cannot protect your computer from attacks that do not go through the firewall filters.

Firewalls do not do well in protecting your computer from viruses.
