Definition

Firewall is a “system or group of systems which control the access between two networks”. It works as a high speed inspector or electronic guard which allows or rejects traffic based on rules defined by the firewall administrator. Some firewalls exist to block traffic, while others exist to permit traffic. Typically, the firewall or network security sits as separating software, which separate internal network (company's network such as employees, suppliers, and customers) from the external network (internet network). These days, if you are connected to the internet, or if you are part of shared network, cable modem networks, then for sure your neediness for the firewalls will increase. The software firewall can be downloaded from the internet or purchased like other computer softwares. But the hardware firewall is the one you have to purchases from computer stores.
